A 7-Day Journey to Deepening Every Relationship in Your Life
Over 7 days, Empowering Relationships will show you where you abandon yourself, defend instead of connect, and give from fear instead of love — and guide you back to the self-responsibility, curiosity, and presence that real intimacy is built on.

I found the movement, journaling with the meditation helped me step into action.

This Is For Those Who...
Keep having the same argument, in different words, with the people they love most
Notice they're defending their position before the other person has even finished speaking
Give and give in relationship and can't work out why it still feels unbalanced
Struggle to ask for what they need without guilt, apology, or over-explaining
Get triggered by something small and can't always tell if it's about now or about something older
Are ready to take responsibility for their side of the relationship
The process that Jonni and Carla took us through felt very natural and unforced that I forgot that I was even concerned about opening up. The value I received opening up and letting go of some shame I was carrying has been one of the most important experiences in my personal development.

Movement & Meditation
For a decade, Carla and Jonni referred clients to one another before they created Ritam Studio. Carla would help people unlock movement patterns trapped in their bodies. Jonni would work with what their minds and emotions were carrying.
The transformation witnessed in their clients was exponential. Their bodies changed, their relationships shifted, and they accessed parts of themselves that neither practice alone could create in such short periods of time.
This is what you'll find at Ritam Studio.
This 7-day immersion is where you can experience it directly — and it draws on 50 years of Carla and Jonni's combined study, practice, and the daily reality of being married to each other.

I've been practicing and teaching Pilates for nearly 10 years and felt I had a very strong movement practice. It wasn't until I started moving with Carla that I understood that Chain Movement is the next evolution of functional movement. The subtlety of cueing to access true form requires the development of deep self awareness. It crosses the bridge into deep inner personal development. This is so exciting to me.

Most relationship advice focuses on getting the other person to change.
This journey starts somewhere else.
It begins with self-responsibility — the recognition that you cannot show up powerfully in relationship until you've taken ownership of your own inner world first. From there, we turn to the need to be right, and how every time you win that argument, you lose something far more important: connection. We work with reciprocity, the dance of mutual generosity, and the difference between giving from love and giving from fear. We look at boundaries, not as walls but as an invitation to deeper intimacy, and one of the most generous things you can offer someone you love. And we learn to tell the difference between someone causing your pain right now and someone triggering pain that's been there all along.
Empowered relating is a daily practice. Every interaction is an opportunity to choose self-responsibility over blame, curiosity over certainty, generosity over withholding, and presence over reactivity.

What makes this different from other relationship programs I've tried?
Most relationship programs give you scripts and techniques for managing conflict or getting your partner to change. This journey starts with self-responsibility — the recognition that you cannot show up powerfully in relationship until you've taken ownership of your own inner world first. We work with the body and the nervous system, not just the intellect, so the shift isn't just something you understand, it's something you can feel and return to.
What type of movement is involved?
Chain Movement is a barefoot, bodyweight practice done on a mat, no equipment needed. Each day's sequence is built around the theme of that day so you feel the relational pattern in your body before you work with it in the meditation. Carla cues you through every movement. No prior experience required.
What type of meditation is this?
The meditations are fully guided by Jonni and themed around the day's focus, moving from breath and body awareness into a closing reflection connected to a specific relationship in your life. No mantras, no prior meditation experience required.
I'm worried this will bring up things about my relationship I'm not ready to face.
The practices are designed to help you notice what's happening in your relationships with honesty and compassion, not to force a confrontation or a decision. You're building the capacity to see clearly, at your own pace. If you're currently working through relationship trauma, abuse, or a crisis, we recommend doing this alongside support from a therapist or counsellor.
What if the relationship I most need this for is already over, or the other person won't do this with me?
This journey works whether or not your partner participates, and whether or not the relationship in question is current. Self-responsibility, reciprocity, boundaries, and the difference between trigger and cause are things you can build in yourself regardless. Many of the patterns you uncover will also show up with children, parents, friends, and colleagues, not only a partner.
Can my partner and I do this together?
Yes, and many couples do. You can each go through the daily practices individually and then come together for the journaling prompts and conversation, or move through the week side by side. Doing it together tends to deepen the reciprocity and communication work in particular, but it's just as valuable done solo — the foundation of the work is your own self-responsibility either way.
What if my partner isn't interested in doing any kind of relationship or self-development work?
That's common, and it doesn't stop you from doing this work. In fact, one person shifting how they show up, surrendering the need to be right, communicating boundaries with love, distinguishing trigger from cause, often changes the dynamic of a relationship even when only one person is doing the practice. What you learn here is also transferable to any relationship in your life, not only the one that prompted you to start.
What if my unworthiness or old wounding feels too tangled up with my relationship patterns to separate?
They're often tangled together, and that's addressed directly on Day Five, where we work with the difference between someone causing your pain right now and someone triggering older pain that's already there. If you find that old wounding is a bigger piece of what's showing up, our Overcoming Unworthiness journey is a natural companion to this one.
What if I don't have 30 minutes a day?
The practices are designed to be completed in 30–35 minutes and we recommend doing them early in the day, ideally before sunrise. If the state of your relationships is costing you far more than 30 minutes of energy already, waking a little earlier to tend to them may be one of the most valuable investments you make.
Can I go at my own pace, or do I need to follow the 7 days exactly?
The journey is self-paced. During the week of August 24 to 30, our Ritam Community will be stepping through each day together as a global group. After this time, the journey remains available to members to repeat any time at their own pace. Each day builds on the one before it, so we recommend completing them in order, but you can take longer between sessions if life gets in the way.
What if I miss a day or fall behind?
There's no falling behind. If you miss a day, simply return and pick up where you left off. The only thing that matters is that you keep showing up at your own pace.
Is this a religious or spiritual program?
Some teachings draw from Vedic wisdom traditions and include meditation practice, but this isn't religious instruction. You won't be asked to adopt any beliefs. The focus is practical: understanding how you show up in relationship and developing the awareness and practices to shift it. People of all backgrounds, partnered or not, find value in this work.
